What I Look for in Activewear

I've bought a lot of workout clothes over the years β€” some that lasted for years and some that pilled, faded, or lost their shape after three washes. Here's what separates good activewear from disappointing activewear:

  • Squat-proof fabric β€” non-negotiable for leggings. If you can see through them, they're going back.
  • Moisture-wicking β€” keeps you dry and comfortable whether you're lifting, walking, or doing yoga
  • Flattering fit that holds its shape β€” after multiple washes, the waistband shouldn't roll and the fabric shouldn't sag
  • Pockets β€” a non-negotiable for me. Side pockets or waistband pockets for your phone and keys
  • Supportive sports bras β€” proper support reduces movement and makes working out more comfortable

Buy one or two pieces first before committing to a full set. Sizing can vary between brands, and fit matters more than brand name when it comes to activewear.
